Development debates have recently been dominated by the search for ways to finance the ambitious post-2015 development agenda, culminating in the 2015 Financing for Development conference in Addis Ababa. But one of the topics missing from the discussions was Social and Solidarity Finance, or SSF. This video takes a brief look at what SSF is and how its transformative potential could contribute to both financing social and solidarity economy and to creating a more stable financial system that is conducive to sustainable development. The content and some of the footage is based on an UNRISD Workshop, organized in collaboration with the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung and the International Labour Organization on 11-12 May 2015.
